Joe & Erica : 60’s Back To Retro Sunset Beach Wedding

Well, they had the most simplest wedding ceremony of all, …Just tea ceremony and ROM only. NO exchange of vow, NO wedding planner, NO gate crashing. Erica told us they just want everyone to join in and have fun, dance in a relax enviroment to have their buffet dinner.

This was our first time filming by take off our shoes and sink our toes into delightful soft white sands… “walking & running” under high temperature of the sun on the day, enjoy the sunset on the evening and night time filming underneath a blanket of stars , enjoy the 60’s oldies songs, fun with their friends and relatives… It was really the most relaxed, enjoyable and unique filming experience ever ! Especially it is open air….

Erica & Joe had arranged that we could all stay in the same resort as them as this would save the traveling time and for the convenience of us to cover the preparations and ceremonies. Well, it was really cool having to just walk a few minutes to couple’s room and the beach. Thanks a lot for your kindness booking a comfortable luxury seaview suite at Avillion, the 5star hotel for us to take a rest.

Marc + Joanne : coklat + orange

Lovely couple from Holland; Our bride Joanne, is a popular singer and born from a musically-inclined family from Sabah – and our groom, a successful businessman from Holland.  A true “East meets West” tale indeed!

The Wedding Ceremony – they exchanged their vows in an extravagant, yet intimate Catholic Church at the Immaculate Conception Church, Pulau Tikus, Penang, Malaysia, followed by a fabulous wedding reception  at  Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Hotel and Resorts, Penang.

The exquisite wedding was attended by close friends and family from around the world.  Those that flew in came from the Netherlands, England, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia and Sabah, to be with the couple on their special day.

The highlight of the night was two very special dance performances arranged by the Wedding planner, Ms Elena Phillips (designerweddings.com.my). There was the very traditional dance, Sabah’s “Sumazau Dance” and the Gangnam Dance ‘Penang Style’.  Marc and Joanne had a lovely surprise when the performances came on as both the dance were performed by family members and close friends.  The bride’s friends who were musicians jammed and played the band all night.  They played non-stop music while the guests danced the night away.  Everybody rocked!  What a night!  It was truly awesome, everyone had a blast!

Mega & Santha : the “Bollywood” Love Story

We proudly present to you a short film of Meganand & Santhaletchumi. Their very exclusive and unique “Bollywood Love Story”. First of all we would like to thank Mega and Santha, this lovely couple had made booking with us 10,000 miles away from United Kingdom for their once in a life time event. Though we just had a very short chat time in skype but we made it like close friends. We met in Penang finally just two weeks before the actual filming began.

In this particular post we would like to share a bit about our experience gained from working on this exclusive film. This “Bollywood” style LOVE story was filmed and precisely captured by DIGIMAX video productions  at Pearl Island, Penang.

Their love story is composed in kinda music video style. It contains a total of 8 different songs which tell the whole love story. It’s just like the Bolloywood style songs.

The love story starts from Mega is having his jogging and enters into a Temple. While outside the Temple, Mega spots a beautiful girl (Santha). This is his first sight on her. The story continues where they accidentally meet up again in a different place. The film flows on in different scenes where they will duet in old styles like cycling on bicycles and running around trees (Very very genuine Bollywood style right?). Lol. Then it tracks down to another scene with latest style song. Then a scene on the beach. Then another short and fast song with dancing at clubbing. Finally they have their splendid and wonderful wedding……. And the ending  part is the tying of the mangalsutra “thali” at temple….

Underwater scenes came out in our mind…..shooting the lovers floating, diving and chasing  each other in the water….. And this whole concept and ideas were provided by our very lovely couple Mega and Santha themselves.

This is our first assignment of such short LOVE story film for an Indian couple. Although it was challenging and demanding, however our teams felt happier and much contented to complete this film smoothly by capturing the couples very best moments on film.

The most interesting thing was although with a lot of “NG” parts during shooting but we were not tired. We pushed ourselves to try and try again. Our teams had tons of fun with Mega and Santha! Their natural reactions and emotions from “NG” parts had been captured down. And you may watch them at the end of the film. Absolutely fantastic! This short film had been premiered in their 1st reception at Fort Cornwallis, Penang on 1st Dec 2012, and 2nd reception at Cameron Highland on 2nd Dec 2012. After premiering the short film, we received very good feedback from all audience including their family members.

Last but not least, a very special Thank to Meganand & Santhaletchumi for your honour to allow our team be part of your big day. Thank you for your trust in DIGIMAX Video Productions and for your good heart.

Dr.Dipak Ram & Raneesha : “KING of the Day” an Indian Combo Wedding “Gujrati + Malayalee”

This is an Indian Combo wedding between “Gujrati” and “Malayalee” wedding styles. The wedding of Dr. Dipak and Raneesha was one of the most special and meaningful wedding days we have encountered. Dr.Dipak and Raneesha’s gorgeous wedding destination is Malaysia, their home. The celebration was joined by friends and family from all over the world including England, Russia, India, Singapore, Australia and Alaska.

“Jaimala” at the hotel entrance started sharp at 7:10pm (Gujrati tradition involving exchange of garlands). The bride and groom exchanged garlands in a playful manner together with their friends and relatives. The most interesting thing was a lot of natural emotions between the newlyweds. It was so joyful and fantastic…LOVE IT ! This was followed by a prayer ceremony by two priests involving an amazing integration of different cultures. Dipak’s father Dr.Ram Padman showed the thali to all guests for blessing and then handed it over to the priest. The next ceremony was the tying of the mangalsutra “thali”. This was followed by an exchange of garlands and the couple then went around the fire four times. They then sat down and performed the Seven Steps rites. We loved every moment, the culture and the colourful ceremony.

Our handsome groom Dr Dipak is really smart, cute and a “happy go lucky” guy. They are a very lovely couple. Both of them had a natural smiling face, were kind hearted and had a friendly personality …. always smiling! We are so happy for them and this is definitely a wonderful match ! We had tons of fun with Dr.Dipak and Raneesha! So many emotions throughout the day!

They are fantastic couple to meet and we had a great time filming their gorgeous celebration on April  21, 2012 at Rasa Sayang Resort in Penang, Malaysia.
